Europe: My Ten Favorite Images So Far

I've been on the road for three weeks. I've slept in nine different beds, walked 157 miles, and I still don't have a fucking clue what I'm doing--but I'm digging it.

If I told you that I came here for a staircase and a library and a woman and a band, I don't think you'd be very surprised.

But I came here for a staircase and a library and a woman and a band

I've found other things along the way, too. These are some of my favorites...

Ely Cathedral, north of Cambridge. Extremely holy. 935 years old. My step brother took me here and it's fantastic. We crawled all the way to the top through Peter Dinklage doors and spiral staircases that would make Morgan and Morgan salivate. It was defaced pretty extensively during the Reformation, but they left this chapel on the side and I had about .003 seconds to snap this photo of a total stranger.

Somebody in time out in Gaudi's favorite square in Barcelona. Franco had some guys shoot it up during the Civil War and claimed that it was the Republicans shooting priests.

The Germans are a weird bunch. They seem pretty cool but then some dude in plaid cargo shorts walks by, or you realize that all the posters on the side of an otherwise-great photo are for Nickelback.

A storm rolling in over the old flak tower in Vienna. They mounted anti-aircraft guns here during the war.. The reinforced concrete walls are 11 feet thick in some places and, with all guns engaged, it could put 8,000 rounds per minute into the air.
